Wedding Planning Checklist

2022 is expected to see a whopping 2.5 million weddings, which is more weddings than any year since the 80s. If you're one of those lucky people getting married this year, congratulations!

However, even if you already have a Fort Myers wedding venue, there's a lot more that needs to be taken care of. Read on for your guide to everything you'll need to plan a wedding for your big day!

Your Fort Myers Wedding Venue

The first key thing on your wedding planning checklist is your venue. You obviously want the best wedding venue around, so booking a date far in advance is very important!

You need to find a venue that works for your wedding's needs. Do you want something small and intimate for you and a few guests? Or do you want a big event with everyone you can invite to help you celebrate this big day?

Some venues will include a day-of coordinator or wedding planner with their wedding packages. These fine people will make your life a breeze and are worth every penny!

Look for venues that can provide the services, people, and support you want. There are plenty of beautiful places you can choose from, but finding a place that fits your plans is the best choice you can make!

Food and Drinks

Once you have your venue picked out, you need to figure out how to take care of all your guests. Does the venue provide food and drink, or will you need to hire caterers? A wedding will quickly turn sour if the guests can't eat or drink!

Many places recommend that you hire the vendors as far in advance as possible. The more months you work ahead, the better chance you have of getting a good vendor who can supply food for everyone. Make sure to include snacks and appetizers as well as the main dinner!

Some venues provide a bar, and some don't allow alcohol at all! You'll have to keep that in mind both while looking for venues as well as while planning your drink choices for your guests.

And don't forget to order your wedding cake! A wedding cake takes a long time to prepare and plan, and you don't want to be caught without at the last minute.

All the Looks! Dress, Hair, Makeup, and Jewelry

You probably started planning your dream wedding dress as soon as you got engaged, and probably long before then. Now it's time to go out and buy one!

Besides the dress, you need to think of all the other vendors and assistants who will make you look good. Who's doing your hair? Your makeup?

If you want friends to do those things for you, that's great! But you still need to plan these things in advance.

Guest List and Party

You also need to know how many people are coming to your wedding and figure out what sort of events you want besides the main ceremony.

The sooner you can get your invites sent, the sooner you can get RSVPs to help plan your guest list. Even if you don't get an exact count for some time, you can get a rough estimate of what size wedding you're going to have.

It's also important to start planning out your festivities as soon as possible. Will you have a reception after the wedding? Will there be a rehearsal dinner before the wedding that you also need to invite people to?

Besides that, you get the fun of figuring out the timing of the bachelor or bachelorette parties, as well as your honeymoon! These are all important events, and the sooner you and your wedding party start planning them, the better chance you have of pulling off something amazing.
